It has been observed that we live in a "pornified" world. Our culture pressures us to conform to the sexual images and lifestyles that are contrary to God’s Word. In Sunday’s message we heard this stat: In 2016 alone, more than 4.6 billions hours of porn were watched on the world’s largest porn site, and 79% of men between the ages of 18 and 30 view pornography at least monthly. And pornography is not isolated to just men.

Romans 12:1-2 is an exhortation to live differently, to not be molded to the pressures of culture.

Evaluate:

  • How does pornography contrast with how Jesus, Paul, and Peter told men to treat women?

  • Do you think pornography could have lasting negative effects on your relationships with each other?

  • How does the prevalence of erotic imagery in our society affect women’s self-images and sense of self-worth?

Reflect:

  • Guys, what trash do you need to take out?

  • Ladies, have you bought the lie of our culture’s view of women?

  • In Romans 12:1-2, what words should describe our lives as living sacrifices? Are these true of you?

  • In what areas of thinking do you need to renew your mind with God’s Word?
